In the Garden of the Fat Lady II

A choreography by Tania de Paola, to be discovered at the Espace Culturel des Terreaux, Lausanne, from 2 to 12 March 2017

In July 1791, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart received an anonymous order for a requiem through a messenger. The strange circumstances of the composition of this unfinished opus by Mozart, invoke the most diverse suppositions and envelop this latter work in shadow and mystery.

Faced with his approaching end, will Mozart be able to free himself from the demons that animate him and live to the limit of his passions?

Will he succumb to the drunkenness of the sinner?

In this macabre dance, torn between here and the beyond, will he have the strength to make his way?

Through dance and theater, Tania De Paola, highlights this dramatic episode of the composer's life and subtly mixes it with grotesque or derisory silhouettes, inspired by the characters of Botero. The result is a spectacle in motion, rich in contrasts, in the image of the intense dialogue that our own passions can have.
